The plan was a hike in gorge but the weather forecast said that the winds were blowing at 50mph there so we decided to head for the coast & hike the Cape Lookout State Park peninsula. The weather was fantastic we left behind 40 degrees and strong winds for T shirt weather of 60 degrees plus & a calm breeze!
Bonne Chance Yannick... The last Thursday of every month the local "foreigners" and some select USA guests :^) get together for a drink. This will be Yannick's (The guy in front of the photo) last meeting, after many years he & his wife Amy are heading back to France to set up an Organic Vegetable growing operation.
On leaving the Moon & Sixpence we paused for a moment to admire Andy's fantastic parallel parking :^)
January 4th - Christmas Dinner II The Turrells were supposed to be here on Christmas Day but the weather put pay to that!! So we had a second Christmas Dinner with them on January 4th! Susie & Chiyoko made the deserts, Mirranda made most of the dinner dishes & I was in charge of the Roast Beef, Potatoes & parsnips :^)..
Of course no dinner with the Turrells is complete without Susie's steamed Cranberry Pudding..
The weather was so miserable over the New Year break I cleaned up the office and came across an envelope with these photos fo the girls in it. They were taken in 1994 and we were visiting friends Barry & Colleen in Lincolnshire. Sadly Barry passed away in 2006.
